Daily Covid-19 cases across India have been increasing continuously, since the past few days. The trend continued on Saturday. The administration has repeatedly asked the people not to become complacent, and have advised them to follow the safety protocols, even if they have received the vaccine.
According to the daily bulletin by the Union Ministry of Health, a total of 13,993 people across India contracted the coronavirus infection, in the past 24 hours. As a result, the total number of infections as of the 20th of February, Saturday, has increased to 1,09,77,387. In a single day, 101 patients lost their lives due to the infection. With this, the death toll stands at 1,56,212. It needs to be noted that the number of deaths increased ac compared to the previous day.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries are lesser than the number of single-day infections, in India. In the past 24 hours, a total of 10,307 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection. With this, the total number of recoveries recorded till date has increased to 1,06,78,048.
Mass vaccination in India, which began last month, continues to go on. Till date, as many as 1,07,15,204 people across the nation have been vaccinated against the infection. These include doctors, nurses and front line health workers.
